Hello — I’m Adele, the photographer behind Blue Lights Photography, based in Darton close to Barnsley. As a specialist in maternity photography I focus on creating relaxed, confident images that celebrate this unique time in your life. My approach is personal and gentle: I take time to listen, plan a session around what you want, and guide you through poses so you feel comfortable and beautiful in front of the camera. Sessions take place in my Barnsley/Darton studio where I cultivate a warm, welcoming environment. I work at your pace and always prioritise comfort and safety. Many clients prefer soft, timeless portraits that highlight the bump and connection between partners; others choose a more stylised look. I’ll discuss ideas with you beforehand so we can design a session that feels natural — whether you prefer simple, elegant images or something more creative. What makes my maternity photoshoots different is the one-to-one care I give every client. You’ll be working directly with me from booking to viewing: I’ll help with wardrobe advice, suggest flattering poses and lighting, and make sure you feel relaxed throughout the shoot. If you’d like, partner or sibling portraits can be included so we capture the whole family’s anticipation (I also photograph portraits and weddings, and understand how to put people at ease in front of the lens). I recommend getting in touch early in your pregnancy so we can reserve a date that suits you — I’ll help advise the best timing to capture your bump comfortably. After your session you’ll view your images in a private gallery and I’ll support you in choosing the portraits you love to display at home.
